A Once-in-a-Century Celebration

On October 9–10, 2026, Great Falls comes alive. The C.M. Russell Museum will host Charlie Russell’s Legacy: Celebrating 100 Years – a landmark two-day event marking a century since the passing of one of the American West’s most beloved artists.

Friday evening brings a western celebration under the Montana sky. Saturday morning, Central Avenue transforms as the Charlie Russell Legacy Parade winds through the heart of downtown Great Falls – a spectacular procession of cowboys, First Peoples, artists, musicians, and communities from across the region, all marching alongside history. The celebration continues as the museum campus fills with live music, cowboy poets, Traditional Native Games, family programming, food, and community – a love letter to Charlie and a rallying moment for everyone who has ever been moved by his work.
