The raw, gut strength and quick wit to stay alive and in the saddle are on display here. As always, Russell leaves us with a question unanswered, and a story half told all the while filling us in on what it looked like in a world where friends and skill both mattered. Using his ideal compositional placement, the triangle, he shows us the tension and danger of the moment when this cowboy in trouble is the subject of a rescue attempt. What happened? Only the viewer can come up with the ending, happy or not.
