Forever Glacier: Ovis canadensis (Lithograph)

Bighorn Sheep

“Big Horn rams set a high bar for championship head butting!  Their curled horns weigh up to 30 pounds, and the sound of two rams battling is a bucket-list experience. I placed the ram on top of an outcropping of rock and high meadow, where he sits imperiously overlooking the kingdom of Glacier Park.  He has attitude, strength and perseverance in this rugged terrain.  I wanted to convey all of that when I painted him with saturated color, filling the silk canvas with his form.” – Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey
