EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LETTERDear Friends of the C.M. Russell Museum,This October, we celebrate 100 years of Charlie Russell%u2019s enduring legacy. One century after his final paintings, sculptures, and stories, we are proud to join generations of people who have kept the flame of his art, life, and lessons burning strong. As humble as he was, Charlie would be proud. I know I couldn%u2019t be more proud to be part of it.The timing couldn%u2019t be better to celebrate this milestone. This past year was one of the strongest in recent memory for the C.M. Russell Museum. The pages that follow tell that story in full, but let me share a few highlights:Museum attendance was up, which means more people are finding their way to this Museum and leaving changed by what they experience here. We doubled down on programming and education, creating more opportunities for kids, families, and adults to connect with Charlie%u2019s world in meaningful ways. We also report with gratitude that our premier benefit auction event exceeded expectations. The spectacle and results of The Russell%u00ae are a true testament to the collective passion that artists, sponsors, supporters, and collectors bring to Western art and our mission. Behind the scenes, our stewardship work continued quietly and carefully, ensuring Charlie%u2019s original works are protected for the next hundred years.We%u2019re heading into this centennial year with real momentum, and that%u2019s because of you. Your support makes every bit of this possible. I hope you enjoy reading about the year we%u2019ve had, and that it leaves you as excited as I am for what comes next.Sincerely,Duane BraatenExecutive Director C.M.
