Brett James Smith, known
for his classic scenes in the sporting tradition, has in the last few years turned his skill and attention to Western subjects. His subject matter expanded to include Native Americans and the adventurous characters who populated the West. In October 2013, Smith was chosen as a member of the Russell Skull Society of Artists, who exemplify the best in Western art.
Randy Van Beek has been
a full-time artist since 1980. His styles range from traditional realism to impressionism.
Van Beek is self-taught but is influenced by his studies of the nineteenth-century American, Dutch, and Austrian masters.
He has received awards from the National Geographic Society, the Smithsonian Institution, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, John Clymer Museum, and the Blackfoot Valley Art Auction. Western Art
and Architecture magazine featured his work in the 2016 February/ March issue. Van Beek is one of the twenty-two charter members of the Russell Skull Society of Artists.
Andy Thomas, an inaugural artist of the Russell Skull Society, is a self-taught artist who strives to bring intense motion and a story to each canvas of the iconic and historic West as his ultimate goal. He has been a full–time professional artist since 1991 and works
out of his studio in Carthage, Missouri.
