This unique copy of this compilation of many of Russell’s beloved illustrated letters was personalized by Nancy Russell. The artist’s wife welcomes the reader to join Charlie and his friends in traveling the back trails within the pages. Remarkably, Nancy also coordinated signatures and remarks from nineteen of Russell’s closest friends; a who’s-who list of notable movie stars, artists, and friends. Individually, and collectively, the signatures present a personal and lasting tribute to the memory of Charles Russell as both an artist and as a friend.
A bookplate and personalized slipcover indicate this particular book originally belonged to famed comedian and actor, Joe E. Brown. Brown was best known for his role in Some Like it Hot starring Marilyn Monroe.
