CHARLES FRITZ
“Charlie Russell—the Cowboy Artist” and With a Heart for the Indian oil
44 x 25 inches each
Two paintings sold as one lot
$18,000–22,000
Charlie Russell’s friendships spanned from the nation’s most wealthy and famous, to the Montana cowpuncher, with not much more to share than laughter and a good story. Charlie’s letters have left us “tracks to follow,” in how to value and appreciate our friends. I believe it was an innate trait of his to care about his fellow man. rough his writings and his paintings, his concern and empathy for the Indian was obvious, which placed him way ahead of his time.
