He was eager to engage with other artists, sharing concepts and techniques. He endeavored to understand and document the changes in his social and physical environments. At  e Russell, patrons have the opportunity to follow in Charlie’s footsteps, experiencing his love of the West, its people, and its colorful history, while pursuing a zeal for western art. More than an auction,  e Russell is a cultural event. Like the historic rendezvous, we come together to learn, listen, laugh, and laud our Western heritage.Re ective of Charlie’s many-faceted personality, the C.M. Russell Museum has maturedto meet the interests of disparate audiences. Younger generations now study wildlife, the environment, social concerns, and the power of artistic creativity, all through Russell paintings and writings.
