Annual Appeal 2012

The Annual Appeal Campaign at the C.M. Russell Museum is the only fundraising program that reaches all friends, members, and businesses on a yearly basis. These funds are gifts over and above membership dues, and provide the basic foundation for accomplishing the mission of the Museum. Funds provided through the Annual Campaign are unrestricted, which allows the Museum to not only provide the day-to-day services that our visitors deserve, but to respond to special opportunities that often arise.

Many people think their gift is too small to make a difference. No gift is too large or too small to support the mission of the C.M. Russell Museum. Every gift makes a difference!

Please contact Membership Associate Sara Borer at (406) 727-8787 ext 324 with any questions.

Support Through Planned Giving

Over the years, the Museum has been the recipient of truly special and important gifts from individuals who have included the Museum in their estate planning. Through planned gifts such as wills, charitable trust arrangements and life insurance, these gifts provide a lasting legacy that recognizes the most significant donors, and provides fundamental support for the Museum. Estate gifts can be targeted to an area of the Museum you wish to support, such as curatorial projects or educational programs.

Estate gifts ensure that the Museum will continue to provide the finest art and the most enriching experiences for future generations. At the same time, many estate plans can also help you achieve your own personal financial goals. We encourage you to not only consider the Museum in your long range financial planning, but also ask that you do so with the assistance of qualified legal and financial counsel.

Examples of opportunities for assisting the Museum through planned giving include the following:

  • Bequests: You can provide for the C.M. Russell Museum directly through your will.
  • Life income planning: You may name the Museum as a beneficiary of either a charitable remainder trust, or a charitable lead trust. These instruments provide you with income prior to the “remainder” of the trust reverting to the Museum following your death and the death of your primary beneficiaries.
  • Life insurance: You may designate the Museum as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy. This may have additional tax benefits for you as well. Again, please consult your insurance and financial professionals for assistance with this type of gift.
